Angels from God

Feeding hungry kids has always been an integral part of Childcare Worldwide’s programs. With the pandemic devastating economies around the world, our feeding programs have become more important than ever. Seeing our families struggling to put food on the table, we turned to the Childcare Worldwide family for help and you stepped up in a big way!

This is how our track looked like when offloading itThrough your generosity, we’ve already raised enough to provide over 23,000 meals to hungry children – just within the last few weeks!

And every single one of those meals will be a blessing for families who are desperate and scared.

The meals you provide help children like Eric in Uganda. Eric’s parents passed away when he was just a baby, so he lives with his grandma. Despite her age, Grandma works as hard as she can to care for Eric and his cousins who also live with her. They never had much, but they were getting by.

But when Uganda locked down due to the pandemic, Eric’s grandma lost her job, and their situation quickly became desperate. With no savings, and no help coming from the government, they were surviving off the vegetables they grow in their small garden. Eric was getting used to eating just one meal a day – a little bit of porridge and a sweet potato shared with his cousins.

So, when our Ugandan staff delivered a big package of food to their door, it made a profound difference. Eric could hardly believe all this food was for them!

“I am so happy about the food package,” Eric said. “When my Life Centre teacher Ms. Gloria, brought the good news, she was like an angel from God. Thank you CCW for your wonderful love and care towards me and my family. I feel so blessed, and may God bless you too!

To Eric, Ms. Gloria was like an angel because she brought him food when he was hungry - but what Eric didn’t know is how many hidden “angels” contributed to that food package being delivered. It started with a generous donor, the first “angel.” From there, the gift made its way across the globe, through our office in Uganda, and out to Eric’s home, passing through the hands of countless others along the way. There are so many people working together to provide care and hope in the midst of all this hardship! Just like Eric, I am encouraged by these “angels from God.”

With the generous support of donors like you, we’ve delivered over 5,700 COVID-relief food packages this year. And thanks to the incredible outpouring of support we’ve received recently, we are going to be able to continue these vital food distributions. Together, we will help our kids through this pandemic!

Childcare Worldwide is grateful to partner with generous people all over the world to help children in need. If you’re interested in helping feed hungry children like Eric, donate today!
