Baptisms in Peru! February 20, 2020

Here at Childcare Worldwide, we have a lot of good days – God blesses this ministry in so many ways. But the best days of all are the days we hear about our kids making public declarations of their faith in Christ. (more…)

I recently made a visit to our Childcare Worldwide office in Peru. What an amazing trip! I was blessed by the kids we serve in Lima. It was yet another great reminder of the wonderful work I get to do as president of this ministry. MUSTARD SEED PROJECTS Our work in Peru is unique in that we provide child sponsorship programs as well as socioeconomic opportunities for women. I was able to meet several ladies who benefit from a CCW provided sewing machine. Childcare Worldwide Peru provides classes where women are taught how to sew clothes. The clothes they make can be sold at a profit which helps provide these women an economic benefit. The income from these micro businesses contribute toward (more…)

Carmen grew up with seven siblings! With all those kids, there was never quite enough to go around. Carmen vowed she’d do better by her own family someday. But she wound up with four kids of her own – and now one grandchild! Making ends meet in Peru’s economy is tough. Her parents could barely feed all of them. Jefferson pursuing his dream at Idatur Institute. Jefferson is the last person you would expect to find at a prestigious culinary school in Lima, Peru. A lot has changed in 33 years, so I asked Dr. Lange to paint me the picture of what it was like then, and what it is like now. (more…)

Rocio fumbles to remove the arm bands of her crutches from her forearms and then plops into a well-worn and fabric-frayed chair. Another long day was behind her and it felt good to sit down again. Abandoned by her husband, Rocio was left with three children to care for in the desert-like community of Comas, Peru. Years ago, the emotional and financial pain of abandonment had left her depressed and unable to care for her children. And just when she thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did. (more…)
